Ribble Valley Climate Action Network

Who we are..

Ribble Valley Climate Action Network (RVCAN) is a community-led movement, connecting people across the Ribble Valley who care about the climate crisis

What we do..

We connect people and projects to:

  • Reduce carbon and protect resources

  • Support nature and grow greener spaces

  • Influence change though local action

Our values..

  • We act with future generations in mind

  • We act for climate justice rights here in the Ribble Valley

  • We make decisions together, every voice counts

  • We respect all people and welcome diverse ideas

  • We believe the well-being of nature and people are deeply connected

In November 2025 the National Emergency Briefing brought together experts and concerned citizens to persuade politicians to take action the climate and nature crisis. This has now been made into eye-opening, short film, which summarises why this matters for things like extreme weather, food security, health and the cost of living. We are planning to show this film in venues across the Ribble Valley in the coming months.

We held our first Screening of the Peoples Emergency Briefing at The Grindleton Pavilion on Friday 10th April, when around 60 people gathered for a nice evening with some interesting conversations.

700 saplings planted

Group of people gathered outdoors on a cloudy day, following tree planting near Eddisford Bridge, Clitheroe.

We planted over 700 saplings in just over an hour and a half! The small mixed woodland patch on Croal Road, Clitheroe will be supporting a multitude of mini beasts, moths and small mammals. Restoring biodiversity one patch at a time. Thanks to all our volunteers!
